About the author
Millie Donofrio, author of The Bus Ride to School, and Mason, The Blue Boy Puppy.
Millie was born and raised in New York, in the heart of Manhattan. She later went on to live in the suburbs of New York. Millie considers her husband (A retired NYC Firefighter), daughters, and grandchildren to be most important to her.
If she's not spending time with her friends and family, you can almost always find her in her craft room designing something new. In 2003, Millie published a poem in the book Invoking The Muse. Her love of poetry helped pave the way for her first children's book.
Millie felt kids needed a fun way to understand the safety and enjoyment of their daily school bus ride. The Bus Ride to School is Millie’s first children’s book. Millie has now written a 2nd children's book, Mason, The Blue Boy Puppy.
Reviews
The Bus Ride to School.
My students have been loving this storybook about the bus ride to school. It has a cute melodic tone to it. Great for speech and language therapy! Thank you!

Mason, The Blue Boy Puppy
My kids were intrigued by the story. They were worried about the puppy & happy he found a friend. It was also a good lesson to them of how important it is to be present for their pet.

Mason, The Blue Boy Puppy
This is a story about a dog who was brought into a family as a companion for the daughter. He brings her companionship and a lot of love. The twist is that it focuses on what the dog feels after the girl leaves for college. His loneliness and despair are truly moving. All end up well when he himself gets a new canine companion!
I would recommend this book to teach children to be empathetic toward animals. They too have feelings and needs. Great life lesson to teach. Well done.
